CU+ http 504 error

Re: CU+ http 504 error

@krugie I think you have a good point there! And currently both these seem to be the most viewed on the forum right now.

@ltshizane_DStv1 any chance we could get a server name / IP to do a trace to, just to eliminate routing issues?

I’ve tried several. The case from last night was trying to download some episodes of Handmaid’s Tale Season 2.

When the download fails I can go to connectivity checker right then and everything is ok and my internet speed measures at 50Mbps+ each and every time.30670727-A011-4E07-A54F-F53CEE1ECC8F.jpegDownload errors

This is quite probably related to the buffering problem discussed elsewhere. When that occurs I often end up timing out with this error. The MC servers can't cope at peak times - easy as that!

Re: CU+ http 504 error

Hi

I have had the same issues as the others here. Error 504 on various titles. Streams perfectly fine on my DSTV Now app on Android, but Not the Explora 2A. Same 40Mbps fiber link.

Hi @ToiletDuck, our techies are still looking into this, apologies for the inconvenience.~

Re: CU+ http 504 error

I set 10 episodes from History Vault to download in HD this morning. We went out for the afternoon, come home and only 3 episodes have downloaded, the rest give an HTTP 504 error. Really disappointing.

Explora 2 connected directly to router, Vodacom fibre, 40Mbps with 800GB cap.

Re: CU+ http 504 error

@Grace_DStv1Thanks for the feedback.

Hopefully the team will resolve this before everything expires.

I am assuming, until then, that this will be an on-going error. I have just tried again, and after about 160MB on this attempt, I got the same error. So, a waste of time and data until things actually work (hopefully soon, but there is a serious error on your servers)

Just to add, I've been streaming Showmax happily all weekend.

My ISP is MWeb, for what it's worth, and on ADSL still.

I have run the connectivity checker several times, as well as restarted the router and decoder, several times. I've checked my Internet via other means too, and this is the only issue I am having, to the CatchUP servers.

I've been doing so more testing/checking.

I have the same problem to catch up from my PC.

ShowMax on the decoders and PC are both fine. Streaming live Tv on the PC is also fine.

Seems to be a CatchUp issue (or some sort of connectivity issue to CatchUp servers).

Exactly my finding and conclusion too. There is something wrong with the CatchUp+ servers.

Re: CU+ http 504 error

@camsaway - Does this happen always or during peak times? And is it on HD or SD downloads? Which ISP are you with?
