Please would new Mods note that there's also some decoder software bugs known to be confusing certain aspects of CU / CU+

For instance, last known some sections of Explora CU are different from each other even though it's the same content - examples are that a title may be in the Series section but not in the Channels section as it's supposed to be, or the Channels section can have it on CU+ instead of on CU.

Please note that in the above point I'm just referring to CU+ used as a Primary delivery method for some series.

CU+ is also used for other circumstances. Such as a backup for late CU delivery in some cases and so the workings of that listing can be more complex. It can also replace CU after that expires, thereby allowing for longer availability at that stage, when circumstances allow for that.

So as stated it's a complicated set of services, best not to draw too many basic conclusions about how it works...

@Mods - requests regarding CU

Hi Mods,

There's a few things that us regulars have seen tend to stand in the way of you helping with CU queries, hopefully this will assist your efforts;

1. Please keep new Mods informed of the oddities involved with CU, else they just make the same mistakes we've gone to the pains of discussing in detail.

2. As discussed for many, many years - there is a bug with the CU service in general that often at times prevents at least some Exploras getting new CU titles on time.

Not everyone at MC believes this but we believe we've proven it many times - installations involved have been checked for faults and found to be healthy, sometimes these decoders do better than the others do, and there is no set pattern that suggests otherwise. There may well be more than two "types" involved as well.

Please therefore don't just state that MC can see that the titles were delivered.

3. Other complications also have an effect - heavy rain can affect some areas, there have been some recent power cuts again (unofficial), and so on.

4. This is a dynamic service with changes going on constantly, therefore please speed up the responses we're getting - they're much slower than what went on on the old forum (at its best).

If the CU team won't cooperate, please contact management.

5. CU+ titles that are missing can only ever be the fault of MC if the decoders' logs show a recent update. There is no delivery of titles involved with the listing, just a new catalogue list every few hours.

Thank you.
