Hi @stevenv , the DStv registration is tied to the phone hardware, the device will still carry the same Device ID on the DStv Now as it did before the reset.~
Thanks for the reply. A clearer way to ask my question is probably: what happens to the DStv Now registration if you factory reset your iPhone? Is the registration tied to your Apple ID or the phone hardware, or is it a combination of both of those?
Hi @stevenv , if you're going to be using the same credentials(profile), there is no need to do anything just log in and nothing changes. If the details are going to be different all you need to do is de-register the device before logging in with new credentials. On the app, go to Settings> Manage Devices> Remove device.~
Your best bet is probably to get hold of the Chat specialists for the DStv Now service, through the call centre or maybe via the pop-up offer on dstv.com.
I'm sure this unusual need won't be an issue that's understood or can be resolved without the specialists' help, if at all.
What happens if you give your iOS device to another person (e.g. your spouse) and they do a factory reset and reinstall all the apps, including DStv Now? Will the old device still be considered "active" on the app? Or do you need to do a "revmoval" (losing one of the allowed) and reregister it as a new device, even though it was registered before? Basically my wife is getting a new iPhone (we would add this as new device on DStv Now) and I'm taking over her old one. So I want to know if the app will still see her old device as being registered even though I'm going to do a reset and reinstall the app under my iOS account.
