Some have always felt that the dates length of the online guide has never been long enough.
Now there's no way to get info past 2 weeks for many of the channels we watch, even the online magazine was discontinued.
There's many reasons why people want and need a longer guide, like those going on holiday overseas for 3 or 4 weeks, and those thinking about upgrading their DStv package for a month.
I'm going to suggest a 32 day guide, ensuring that a full month is always available to examine on any chosen visit.
Unlike on a decoder, there's no technical limitations in doing so, just challenges to face.
MC have always been able to put enough info together for the popular channels for a full month, and until these changes that could be done many months in advance. Yes, it loses accuracy the further we go, but most users will continue to naturally understand that.
The fact that very few contribute on this forum anymore should not lead to MC thinking that these suggestions and needs are not very popular.
Thank you for your considerations.
Personal feedback re the movie mix-up not required, but thanks.
I was pleased to find day 14 loaded by 7:00 this morning. Hopefully that ordinary task for a 24 hours-a-day service will continue now.
Turns out that the film "Panic" that I used as an example a couple of posts before this, is not on two channels in the same time period but is actually TWO separate films that are both called "Panic".
Based on the synopses the one on 108 Sundance TV is correct with the release year being 2000, and the 106 M-Movies Action+ version is wrong as it was released in 2014 and not 2000 and it doesn't sound like a comedy at all.
How come MC with its "A.I." level capabilities didn't pick this up???
Here's where it wanted to take me (had it in my browser's history);
Clearly an attempt by MC to advertise their DStv Now junk in my face!
Lots of effort to manipulate for ever more profit, little to no effort to improve quality issues! If only you would listen MC, THEN your image would improve...
And I was planning to end with an example of the "Other Airings" listings still not working compared to the guide's search results, after years of reports about it. But it will have to wait until I find one again,...
Sorry for the "delay"
Actually, this example is quite a bit changed from previous behaviour so there may be some work underway on this.
There's also another repeat on 106 - @ 2:00 on Sun. 2 June.
Strange thing is that it was listed as another airing when I first looked at it, then vanished 5 minutes later, yet it is still listed now in that slot on 106.
Another issue, also a new one - in the List section, sometimes if I click on another channel it causes a new window to open in my browser. It wants to take me to somewhere on DStv Now, who knows where as I close it immediately. Please don't do that kind of confusing thing MC, I'll go where I want, when I want!
Thurs. 23rd was never fixed properly, if you do manage to load it it's still missing any details for channels like 104, 108, 121, 123...
BTW MC, the 23rd is... tomorrow.
I will say that the online guide is suddenly working quite a lot faster than it usually does these days.
And I was planning to end with an example of the "Other Airings" listings still not working compared to the guide's search results, after years of reports about it. But it will have to wait until I find one again, it's just been fixed... maybe it was just an update from the channel (140).
Apologies to anyone who saw my last post before I deleted it, I thought things had quickly been fixed with that missing left control arrow.
Nope, what I actually saw is that it is visible when channel 100 was initially still visible and I hadn't yet moved the focus off that line.
I've also since seen that the problem is browser version or operating system (OS) related as far as Firefox goes - completely fine on Ubuntu, no good on XP (which can't get updates for that browser software anymore, and many people still use that MC.)
But being XP it's in all fairness no longer a train smash, unless those with something more modern also have the problem.
Here's one more report I'll add as I don't think it's been mentioned before.
Note the green-circled right arrow for movement on the right side.
Note the red-circled area that's missing the left arrow for movement on the left side.
How are we supposed to move back in the list of channels here MC??!
