2 x layers of blank film negative worked like magic - thanks for the idea @GeoffD (and for your suggestions @Luke7777). It is now even better than what the Explora 1 was! Man Tongue

Don't wear them either... anymore. As per Geoff, Xrays will also do the job

You could also use an old slide negative or an x-ray. Oh wait no one has photo negatives anymore either.

Unfortunately I don't own any (old or new) Man LOLSmiley LOLMan LOL but thanks, that sounds like a plan. I will investigate further.

Cut off a piece of an old black stocking and tape it over the led . Apply multiple layers of stocking until desidered level of darkness has been reached Smiley Very Happy

 

or one lense of a old pair of sunglasses ...

Explora 2 - front panel lighting

I know this issue was raised when the Explora 2 was released but only now that I have one in my bedroom do I realise how much brighter the front panel lighting is compared to the Explora 1. It literally lights up my entire bedroom!

 

I want to be able to see what channel the decoder is on though - has anyone come up with an ingenious way of making it appear less bright, yet still visible?
