My camera isn't available, but it's nearly identical for the latest L93/2 s/w on Explora 1.

 

My model is 25.

The right side of the Software info line is a bit different of course. I see the 2A's also now offer the software load version at the end.

Can confirm that the default these days is to turn on all 3 modes (which I've altered). Possibly done due to the confusing method one has to use to change modes on these modern decoders.

 

I agree that the Mods are blameless re what doesn't work here, and many of them do try, but disagree that they would be able to join us in challenging MC. Some issues have been passed on, most appear to have been ignored.

 

I'll probably step back here for now, quite busy.

The picture approval is because I send a PM to one of the mods alerting them that there is pictures needing approval. It is not ideal but I also realise that the mods are caught up in the same in the same situation as us with a system that is not  properly setup. What we need is a united front to get the restrictions lifted. Smiley Very Happy

There is only one decoder in the room and the 2P is too faraway for its remote to interfere with the Explora so I never bothered to change the default remote settings

Thanks Jan. I see your pictures get approved or shown straight away! Good for you!

One comment. Your decoder responds to all three remote modes, which is the default setting.

The L35 software update were the version rolled out towards the end of August. After the forced  update they did on my decoder the version were L39 and Athena5. I presume that would be the current  rolled out version.

The screen shot I took of version L35 does show the " Decoder Setup Type" on that line but unfortunately the RHS was cut off when I took the picture so  the full line is not visible. But I think it is safe to assume that the  change took place during that release.

So to complete the picture, it would be great of one of you with an Explora 1 And someone with an Explora 2A could post the exact same screenshot as JeanP posted giving the latest situation one can expect please?

Then we need someone with a 4 series and a 5 series decoder to do the same.

BTW, I just noticed on an old screenshot from someone else that this info was already displayed on Explora 1's L89 (the first update in this thread) - in that screenshot it said "Manual" so can't say if the whole software change happened back then.

Did anyone else with the Explora 2A get the 35/2 software version that Jan got, or maybe a later one?

He got that nearly 2 months ago... so by now I'm wondering if the issues are more Explora 1 related and therefore less need to update the 2A at this stage.

For those helping with modern decoders - my Explora 1's new s/w has another new item near the bottom of the Info Central screen.

On the right of the line dealing with "Signal", there's also "Decoder Setup Type: Manual". I presume it would say Auto if that method was last used.

 

Some improvements worth mentioning (hope they can be maintained when other things have been sorted out);

After a reboot, the CU and CU+ lists and the EPG now populate much faster.

The Download Manager is now immediately available.

And the one I was just streaming now for testing has a whopping 105 seconds lead-in!!

That's nearly 2 minutes of self-promoting rubbish we're forced to see displayed first, on supposedly advert-free CU, that we can't do anything about!! Are you quite MAD MC??!!?

 

But it's additionally st00pid as if you download instead you can skip over it when later watching it, so I think it's designed by "gravy train specialists" (my invention - all are welcome to use it).
