Recording 101 and another channel at the same time
This recording trick is for those who may not have thought of the idea.
The weekly problem is;
Only one decoder available
...which is usually reserved for watching another live broadcast
So, how to capture two different recordings for viewing later that night??
Example content to record (Wednesdays);
1. The Americans on 101 from 21:00 to 22:10
2. Black Monday on 103 from 21:30 to 22:10
Split-recording solution (safety nets not detailed);
1. Weekly recurring MR for 101 from 21:00 to 21:28
2. SBR for 103 from 21:30 to 22:10
3. Weekly recurring MR for 901 from 22:26 to 23:10
It's not as complicated as it sounds, and once set up you shouldn't need to worry again :-)
BTW, to set up now for The Americans replacement - Escape From Dannemora;
The Explora doesn't allow one to set a MR if it will visibly clash, but if the start date for the recurring MR is beyond the range of the current EPG then it can be set in advance. It will then sit and wait in your Season Manager, but won't trigger a scheduled recording until within the 8 day EPG range.
At that stage you would get a clash with your The Americans MR settings, so those initial settings are then deleted by you after the last of those broadcasts.
(To include 101 True Detective in the above options, just make the second recurring MR longer. As I don't know the length of the new series I've told mine to end @ 00:40.)
