I took my decoder to the DSTV office in Somerset West and it had the same problem with the regions as at home. Swopped it out for a recon unit and the problem is solved.

@DaveHendry, they may not be able to determine the version from that, although the date is a clue.
Where to find the version is not made simple.

In the default "Loader Details" section you'll find yourself in,
