and that there was to be a replacement channel for Animal Planet..... ?????
And, I'm almost sure, that this channel would already be in place by the 2nd halve of the year...

We were also told on the old forum that National Geographic and Natgeo Wild were going HD and that there was to be a replacement channel for Animal Planet..... ?????
@ToiletDuck and @Optimist, we've received the following feedback regarding Channel 136 and 171. There's plans to change the channels from SD to HD, they're currently on SD. The challenge at present is to remove the HD logo on channels as we receive the content as it is from the supplier but there's discussions to remove the HD logo for now since the channels are not in HD.
Thanks @Kagiso_DStv1 , but we were told on the old forum that all 3 channels will offer HD feeds as well soon, so we know it must be part of that process happening now.
More info will certainly be appreciated.
@ToiletDuck and @Optimist, Channel 136 and 171 are not HD channels. This you'll see when you press the Grid button and scroll to the channels. From what we can see, the HD logo shown on the channels is from the source (channel provider). We'll check with internal relevant teams if there's something that can be done (that's, remove the logo). We'll provide feedback.
On my side the i-Plates' channel names are unchanged and the transponder in use for all of them is still 11050 Horizontal, (which is definitely not a HD carrying transponder).
This includes 135 Discovery TLC being unchanged, and in its case the logo hasn't changed yet either.
Maybe it's that generic factor again - like some other European sourced channels that share the same logos for SD and HD. But they don't mark them HD.
Or maybe it's just early days for the change which always seems to confuse the channels.
ID (171) and Family (136) have been displaying HD logos for the last day or two. But there's no chance either of them are actually broadcasting in HD. Have done a rescan etc.
