Still can't find a category to properly report Broadcast Errors.

SABC 2 broadcasting Morning Live with the wrong wide-screen/ Aspect Ratio settings this morning.

I just want to thank you for your brilliant advice GeoffD(Telenovela). I used one off the unicable ports from the Smart LNB and removed the splitter and connected the cable to the SATCR port on the HD PVR decoder. Now all my channels are working perfectly . Thanks again to everyone for the advice .

Thank you GeoffD for your great advice.   I did receive your detailed reply on my email.

Thanks

I posted a full detailed reply last night BUT that stupid auto moderator function interpreted it as spam and blocked it! When is the administrator going to FIX these issues properly????

Sure thing :-)

BTW, as you have the older, not the latest, Smart LNB (SLNB) you could have a switch attached, but;

1. A MultiSwitch would at least kill all channels in future that are to then presumably be designated as Hi band (would not just be the SABC ones), when Lo Band is also in use, or opposite behaviour.

2. An Explora-type Switch would work but isn't necessary with a SLNB, unless in some cases where you have limited conduit space for cabling in which case a SLNB isn't cost effective.

A splitter is not ever used at all for this kind of connection.

All the best with it, bye.

No, this part makes no sense at all.

1. There shouldn't be anything like a splitter or a switch attached to the LNB inputs.

2. In this sentence of yours there is complete confusion re if there is or is not a switch attached.

IMO your understanding is too limited at this stage for DIY, suggest you contact an installer or a friend with more knowledge.

If you still want to try DIY you probably need to send a private message to GeoffD.

@Kagiso_DStv1- a larger 80 or 90 cm dish is a good recommendation, but can never be the cause of missing signals except maybe re longer durations during poor weather.

Please note that I don't normally currently help on this forum, this is just a quick post to unravel unnecessary confusion for now.

Doubt you've been through all the channels on the service, check channel 195 "e Extra"  as well and you may find it working, in which case you can get the associated group of transponder's channels and there's a configuration error which only a specialist at the call centre or a service centre can help with.

Re: SABC Channerls will NOT go over Automatically for those with older decoders.

Thank you for your prompt response and advice . I do have DSTV SMART LNB that has 6 outputs  and recently installed a bigger dish. The cable from the smart LNB goes to Ellies 2 way splitter and not a switch and 2 cables from the switch to the HD PVR decoder . All my channels work except the SABC1 AND SABC 2. All my channels worked before and after SABC 1 and SABC 2 changed to HD , the channels is just a blank screen. ETV which is also HD works. So i dont understand what could be the problem. Your advice is much appreciated.

I also have a HD PVR 2U decoder. I have exactly the same problem. My SABC 1 AND SABC 2 channels are blank screens. I have the latest LNB installed. I have one cable from the LNB  into a switch and 2 cables out the switch to the decoder. Can someone please help me to resolve this issue.

Unfortunately, simply saying you have the latest LNB installed is not enough to confirm which LNB is installed.  Then you say the feed goes into a switch, which at least means the LNB is NOT a SLNB but an earlier version which then will not provide all the satellite signals required.  Which switch is installed?

What are the network setings activated on the decoder?
