Saga of the Dish Magazine continues

Re: Saga of the Dish Magazine continues

Not a lot BB, but they do help get some other things resolved.

The snake oil salesmen from Lithium have them convinced this is how they can worm their way out of skilled help in what is a very technically detailed and confusing company, the only other ways are;

1. Call Centre specialists - sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get "permission" to consult with them though...

2. Accredited installers - we all know their extremely poor reputation on the whole here... unchanged AFAIK.

3. Going into a main service centre - great service last I knew, but hardly practical in too many of the needs.

Telkom also use a Lithium forum, which is close to dead and we don't even see their Mods around there. Worse, Telkom keeps pushing their advertising to get help from one's public peers there... ridiculous!! :-/

No, MC certainly need to come back to this table properly, and pronto, but sadly I don't see it happening which is why I no longer help here on the whole and prefer not to report too much as MC must trip over their own feet first it seems, caused by their lack of actions.

Anyway, enough from me (and I do otherwise mostly agree with your comments). Have a good one :-)

Re: Saga of the Dish Magazine continues

Ok, maybe I should have done more research before posting what I did. However, you do go on to say that there could be much more involvement from MC staff so I don't think I was too far off the mark with my comments? Are you now telling me that MC are getting more involved, or rather have been more involved, in resolving issues here rather than just having a Community Representative of theirs requesting information as to when a particular program is going to be shown/repeated?

Anyway, getting back on topic, still want to say that it's disgraceful the way MC are treating their older, and long standing, customers when it comes to doing away with the Dish Magazine while giving themselves huge salary increases.

I'll say it again. Just look at the mess this Community Forum is when it comes to getting any sort of info from Multichoice themselves. Most help given here is from a handful of dedicated SUBSCRIBERS or people with technical knowledge. Zilch from Multichoice. These helpful people leave and this Forum closes with their departure.

Not true BB, I guess you're not around enough anymore to see otherwise - no, they do help from time to time and sometimes it's good help, but yes, it's far from often enough and they do keep saying we must help each other which is nonsense in this kind of country and within this industry.

They're particularly quiet at the moment, suspected to have been ordered to back off more due to our current "rowdyness" as in past example periods... pathetic that, especially that such behaviour by them has never worked and that people dislike them more for doing that.

Maybe, just maybe, one day some senior will read some of our comments made with experience, and actually listen and benefit...

Re: Saga of the Dish Magazine continues

Well, although not really Dish Magazine related, I know of someone who has just recently cancelled their Premium subscription and NOT downgraded to Compact. Yet another one dissatisfied customer of theirs. What should be worrying for Multichoice is that this person is a very keen sports lover. Yet, even this couldn't keep him as a subscriber.

Can see this trend continuing for two reasons.

1. Streaming is becoming more popular and in the long run is a lot cheaper. Also people are perhaps finding other ways of watching sports and other entertainment.
2. Multichoice seem to be more about the making of money, which, as a business, they are entitled to be doing, but they seem to be losing sight of how to treat their subscribers.

Standards have fallen drastically over the past couple of years.

However, what REALLY get's my goat and makes me extremely angry is that we have THIS COMMUNITY FORUM where we were PROMISED Multichoice's continued assistance with any of our problems or issues. Here we have the issue of the Dish Magazine being done away with and I don't think there's ever been ONE post by ANYONE FROM MULTICHOICE answering our queries. Not just this Dish Magazine query but any other one.

Oh, they love using the PM method.  That way nothing they say is seen by the community at large. It's like they think if they make a promise in PM, then it's fine to just ignore.  That's why I'm so fond of naming the lovely (and I'm being very sarcastic here) people who keep on making promises to me and telling me what they will be doing for me.

Honestly, I am so sick and tired of fighting with these people!  And come April the price will go up again.  Mark my words!  And then they'll be fast to communicate to us and tell us all the reasons why they have to increase our subscription, regardless of everything they keep on taking away!

Sorry if slightly off topic but I've just received a message from Multichoice advising that the Dish Magazine is going to be discontinued. They advise that we can look at the schedules via various electronic media services. Do the people at Multichoice not know that they have a number of subscribers who perhaps don't have access to these services? Referring here to the older persons. Also means that whenever they want to look for something, provided they have this access, that, small as it may be, they need data for this operation?

Yet another fail, amongst many others that we've experienced from this company over the past couple of years.

I am sure they are well aware of the people (especially the older generation) that don't have access to the technology they're trying to shove down our throats.  I've hammered on it more than enough times when talking to them.  And I have come to the conclusion that they just don't care.  As long as they get their premiums every month, they can't give a flying fart in the wind about their subscribers and their needs.

After all the promises and to and fro with these people, I have not received a guide to date, regardless of promises made over and over again.  I'm now forced to print out the guide every month at great personal expense.

And you know what really grates my cheese?  Then I read headlines of news stories about the multi-million Rand salaries the Multichoice top brass makes and I see April coming with yet another letter about my premium increasing!  But they can't print a book and send it out!

We receive ours monthly through the mail but the November issue only arrived a few days ago. With the postal services what it is it is difficult ti judge when it was mailed.

Really?!  We haven't received ours through the mail in yonks.  The last few were delivered with Fedex and the few before that were hand-delivered by heaven's alone knows who they were.  They just chucked an envelope with our book in over the fence.

So not even their method of delivery is consistent from one person to the next.
