Re: Fixing our own signatures

New method - doesn't have a box, just the vertical line seen on the left. Similar to how quoting works.

Allows 2 lines, but no more and they're shorter. Some vanishing evident on the second line. Smaller font size by default.

<br> can be used to determine your own line break.

Code used:

<blockquote>Testing signature - the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog - the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog</blockquote>

Space between text and signature - just make an extra line after your post's text.

A way to do a second line is to place <br> in-between the text as I've done now, but couldn't get it to work.

I also tried multiple lines but my text gets cut off - it seems the software being used doesn't want one to have more than one line.

Maybe they've got Arial Narrow.

Another one I was experimenting with is <p>

Re: Fixing our own signatures

OK, last one, changing the font to Arial will fit even more text (and you can change the colour using hex code values):

<pre><font size="1" face="Arial" color="#008080">Signature Text</font></pre>

Re: Fixing our own signatures

By similar means you can also reduce the font size to squeeze in more text.

<pre><font size="1">Signature Text</font></pre>

Great stuff - thanks (and to @GeoffD) as well!

Fixing our own signatures

What is needed is a bit of HTML knowledge.

Mine at the bottom of this post was achieved by using this coding for my signature:

<pre>Testing signature</pre>

Reason I'm experimenting is 'cos I saw GeoffD doing so.

My new sig follows below (Edit: my signature has since been changed, may be unrelated to what I've said in this thread or even be blank)...
