Re: @Mods - avatar pics awaiting approval please

We are fighting a losing battle here. I am afraid that none of the mods nor anyone at MC will be able to tell you how the system work. It is also doubtful if anyone at Lithium can really tell us. I have searched around Lithosphere community and found a thread where the ranking ladder were discussed and that was very enlightening I can supply a link to the page if necessary but allow me to quote a few answers and comments from the page which may cause better understanding.

Even as a Lithium employee, I have been hit by the "surprise and delight" philosophy of a competent rank structure. I think a rank structure can always be improved (but it does require a team to do a bunch of homework and really figure out where the right tweaks can be made).

As Jake mentioned, it's not something we reveal. Members may be willing to share their discoveries, though It's worth keeping in mind that progression through ranks will vary from one member to another, since we reward several different types of participation.

My suggestion is to at least tell us what we can do with the new level we've achieved.

In my opinion the ranking system is completely meaningless and is not something losing any sleep over. Even the titles of the various ranks used here is irrelevant and meaningless.

Re: @Mods - avatar pics awaiting approval please

I'll have to leave that for now, early indicators are that MC feels a need for forum parenting by specialists and monitoring is being undertaken.

What Lithium don't seem to get is the different kind of Forumite that's found this side of the world, where we're far more street-smart, and there's the lack of "springy" effort we've always had from our Mods through the years - for instance, has anyone ever seen even ONE thread moved from an incorrect section to a correct one on this forum?

And if I'm not mistaken, none of the Mods are just dedicated to helping here.

Alter this pic and avatar nonsense MC, or I believe you will see this forum die. Can you really afford this ugly (in our opinion) interaction with your clients in this climate??

Please don't address me in the threads in this section, I'm done responding.

MC, feedback is still needed about the odd situation with @krugie

I would also like to know please @Kagiso_DStv1

No answer, not even that they're looking into it...

Fine, I'll lodge a complaint with top management on Monday. Note that last time I did our (ex) forum leader was severely and permanently curtailed with her negative activities, and a mole was stopped.

Certain members of MC will not allow their customers to be unjustifiably coerced or treated disrespectfully as if they're children. Clearly Lithium does not respect customers enough.

I posted I'm also going to stop doing that on the last page, just before your newer posts.

BTW, anyone posting in-post pics can do so without intervention if the Mods seeing it is what's needed, the Mods do of course see all of them.

But no help from me if I'm expected to work blind or deliver in this blinded-for-others environment, even for short periods. Not that I would help this lazy company more anyway.

I thought as much.

Unfortunately the younger generation in the smartphone and thumbs generation while we are a computer/laptop and mouse generation. Smiley LOL

We should get into the habit of short two or three word replys. It will increase your reply count and ramp you up the ladder very quickly  Smiley Frustrated

Re: @Mods - avatar pics awaiting approval please

And something I heard earlier - apparently Lithium related sites all over the world are experiencing their customers also complaining about a number of the same concerns as ours with the core software.

Like Geoff, I will now no longer post any pics until the in-post option no longer requires moderation.

And my avatar will remain blank (had to trick them into "allowing" even that).

You've asked for this MC.

Re: @Mods - avatar pics awaiting approval please

Although I mostly agree with what you said Jan, let's not feed them with excuses - there is no need for pre-moderation on this specific forum, as proven after 10 years on the last one.

We did see the Mods had the option (not default) there, but senior management had even that largely removed later - reason was that customers should be allowed to voice even harsh opinion. Only rudeness has to be watched for.

However, I do think the intention to have made this new forum a central station for social media was expected to draw many more participants, and many quite a bit younger - if it had worked, or still may one day, then yes a more careful control may well be needed for newbies.
