Re: Connecting two explora

Getting back to how those switches are SUPPOSED to be connected.

1. For full functionality, there have to be 4 cables connected from the Quad/Quattro LNB on the antenna one to each of the ports marked V/H H/H V/L H/L on your neighbours switch upstairs. If the LNB is a Quad, the order does not matter. If it is a Quattro, the order MUST match the ports on the LNB.

2. Then there must be 4 cables from the universal ports at the bottom of the switch going to the same 4 ports on the 24-1Z switch serving your unit. Again connected in the exact same order.

3. Then all you have to do is connect a cable to port A on your switch to your Explora. If you have more than one Explora, the second gets connected to Port B and so on.

As I said before neither you or your neighbour are supposed to be fiddling around with ANY of the cables in this setup! And most definitely, trying to run a cable direct from the antenna to your unit is a complete no-no!

Looking at the feature description on the Builders page... might be the reason for the 2A confusion Smiley Happy

Thanks Luke. Trust MC to change the name of a product to suit their own stupid ends.

5.3  24-1Z

The OP pic looks like a cross between the 5.2 (A/B on the right)  and 5.3 (A/B/C/D on the left)

Re: Connecting two explora

never heard of it. What make?

Maybe a picture attached would help us ID it to confirm how it should be connected?

Re: Connecting two explora

You get in touch with the BC, who should take action against your neighbour for tampering with the communal property without permission. The Idiot clearly does not understand what he is doing and has no right to mess with the common infrastructure. Neither do you by the way!

What is the model and type of those switches? Are they the 24-1Z switch?
