New Explora 3a no signal

Re: New Explora 3a no signal

SS channels shouldn't be working, sounds like they fouled up the disconnect.

OR, maybe they thought you want XV (XtraView), but then all channels you subscribe to would work so unlikely.

Wait until morning, then consult with them. If need be ask for a supervisor, if it gets really bad insist on an XV specialist (in case that is wrongly involved) but that can be a business to get them to agree to.

Re: New Explora 3a no signal

If the 3A shows "activated" then it should work when connected to a Unicable port on an SLNB straight off. What LNB do you have installed?

If the Explora 1 is connected to a TWIN LNB via a 5-2 Explora switch, you are in trouble! The default settings on the 3A will not work. You will need to adjust the network settings manually, and then you may or may not be successful at the end of the day.

The 5-1 ES is very unlikely to work with the 3A. The 5-2 switch may work, provided the network settings are correct, BUT it is a large "MAY". (port A on the ES only, NOT port B).

Re: New Explora 3a no signal

After realizing that the 3A wasn’t getting signal I reconnected the Explora 1 out of interest to see if there was signal. I have also noticed that the only channels working now on Explora 1 are SuperSport channels. When I look online it says Explora 1 and smart card are deactivated and 3A and new smart are active.Would it be worth waiting until the morning for change over to take place? If it is deactivated by the morning would I just connect up 3A and all should work? Sorry for all the questions.

How do you know when the decoder is deactivated?  When all you can receive is ch 100 on the Explora 1

Re: New Explora 3a no signal

As already stated. The Explora 1 MUST remain connected until MC deactivate it on their systems. Then when the Explora 1 stop working on your side, disconnect it or at least switch it OFF, because the default network settings WILL prevent the 3A from working if the Explora 1 remains connected.

Not making sense here - firstly you say the Explora 1 is still working, then MC tell you they had already changed it... nope, if it works it hasn't been changed.

Also, if you continue to keep it connected (don't disconnect until after MC turn it off for real this time), note that it could be interfering with the 3A's choice of user band indexes.

Why did you keep it connected anyway?

That's all from me.

Re: New Explora 3a no signal

Silly question but have you removed the Explora 1 from your account and added the Explora 3 (and had it activated) through the call centre? If the Explora 1 is still working then this was not done - or not done correctly.

New Explora 3a no signal

Hi my Explora 1 PVR packed up so I bought the Explora 3a. After installation and booting up it comes up with the error of no connection. If I reconnect my old Explora 1 it works perfectly other than the PVR function. Is there something I am missing or need to do/change with the cabling?

Thanks
