Re: Third Explora connection

This what i did:

1. Cabled the new explora from the LNB port c. Made it primary

2. Existing 2x old exploras split the hearbeat to lnb and made them both primary.

By using a 4way Tpiece I did the following

Took cable from Lnb to 4 way split and from 4 way split into decoder.

The hearbeat From RFin First old explora to 4 way split and from 4 way split to RFout second old explora.

Re: Third Explora connection

Suggest you disturb as little as possible regarding the existing installation, because you are uing an Rf distribution setup.

  • Check which userbands and frequencies are in use on the existing decoders, and select three different ones for use by the Explora 2A.
  • Extend the existing HB cabling to the new decoder.
  • Make sure the new decoder uses a different UHF channel number to the other two and tune another channel on all tvs where you want to be able to view this decoder via RF.

How does the HB cabling run between the decoders at the moment and where do you plan to place the third decoder? In the same room as the other two or in a different room.

Existing connections run RF OUT on Primary to RF IN on secondary 1 and then RF OUT on that decoder runs to the RF distribution setup.?  Any tvLINKS installed at the remote viewing points? And any SLX splitters installed?

Re: Third Explora connection

Lmx 500? Explora 1 in the mix?

If so, leave the RF HB cable in place.

Decoders all in different rooms?

Are you distributing TV to other rooms via RF?
