Re: The future of Disney XD is uncertain while Marvel HQ (fulltime channel) launches in India

Dude its too soon for more territories to explore the channel much less Disney Africa. Thinus summarises his articles which I have no issue with at all but if you do read up in other sites about Marvel HQ they'd said it will take time probably even a year or so. DStv Facebook page is te one that misleads a lot of DStv customers and they were the ones who said 2019 while DStv Care (Twitter) only said Disney XD is planning to change the channel to Marvel HQ. DStv Care never mentioned anything about a date or year like DStv Facebook did that's why I rely more on their customer service on Twitter.

And denial by Disney Man LOL:

After MultiChoice says Disney XD is planning on rebranding to Marvel HQ on DStv later in 2019, Disney Africa denies it and says 'there are no plans to change Disney XD for its current format'.

Confirmation from DStv Care as seen on the image below "We can only confirm that Disney XD is planning to re-branding to Marvel HQ, we can't confirm the exact time when this will be taking place", DStv Care

I finally get why sources say Disney XD Africa is infected by the whole thing with Marvel HQ apparently Disney Germany rebranded Disney XD Germany YouTube channel to Marvel HQ and they also have the exact same schedule as Disney XD Europe, Middle East and Africa (probably Spain)

The launch day schedule of Marvel HQ on Sunday, 20 January in India

06:00 Mech X4
08:00 Pokemon Movie - Ash, Pikachu Aur Lugia In Danger
10:00 Jungle Book
12:00 Ultimate Spider-Man
13:00 Avengers Assemble
14:00 Pokemon
15:00 The Jungle Book
17:00 Ultimate Spider-Man
18:00 Avengers Assemble
19:00 Hulk and the Agents of SMASH
19:30 Guardians of the Galaxy
20:00 Star Wars Rebel
00:00 Ultimate Spider-Man
01:00 Avengers Assemble
02:00 Pokemon
03:00 Ultra B
05:00 Ultimate Spider-Man

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney XD EMEA morphs into Marvel HQ since Disney XD Germany YouTube channel became Marvel HQ and there's a lot of talk about the channel possibly replacing Disney XD EMEA since Space Chickens in Space is wrapping up production and most of XD shows are repeats with the current ones like DuckTales and Big City Greens getting less airtime. Lately international markets have been getting some new shows and episodes first before Disney Channel or The Graveyard Channel XD.

If Marvel HQ does hit African screens I'd recommend they add the following XD shows: Star Wars Resistance Slugterra Max Steel Superhero Squad Lego Star Wars Penn Zero

Re: The future of Disney XD is uncertain while Marvel HQ (fulltime channel) launches in India

Africa shares a feed with Europe and the Middle East that's how EMEA was formed the person who handles the Disney Channels in Africa also handles Europe and Middle East. Besides that it was also mentioned that this channel will be available worldwide. India is the first followed by Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Dutch and even EMEA is rumored as well. If Disney XD stays in Africa it will morph into a channel for reruns like the Disney XD in the U.S. and it makes perfect sense to have it in Africa since most of the shows on Disney XD finished its run or got cancelled like Gamer's Guide To Pretty Much Everything, K.C. Undercover (Feb), Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, Pair Of Kings, Lab Rats, Lab Rats: Elite Force, Supa Strikas, Mighty Med and to top it all off Space Chickens In Space won't be renewed for season 2 In preparation of Marvel HQ as it the press release stated it will take more time in some territories than others. Disney XD has been failing in EMEA and by the time Disney Channel moved to Compact most viewers felt pity for XD it was just another shop channel. They even mentioned EMEA is also moving shows starting with Big City Greens like I said the process will take long in some regions and Marvel HQ won't only have Marvel animation but shows that fit the the channel's description like Big Hero 6 and Pokemon possibly Star Wars Resistance for EMEA plus most of Disney Channel shows are current unlike XD even though Disney loves repeats most of that is inflicted on Disney XD now that it became a graveyard channel viewers will slowly distance themselves from the channel and treat like NickToons or the same way Cartoon Network treats their shows.

I'm not sure this applies to the African/South African feed....
