Thankfully, although still not warm as such, the cold spell does seem to be moving on and the weather is SLIGHTLY warmer today. Suns out and no more signs of rain. Still fair amount of snow on the mountains though which is keeping temperatures down a bit. Seeing that the cold front is now moving north. Get out your blankets.
That's good sounds like the dams are well on their way back to normal
I live I JHB no snow or rain just very cold feels like temp was - 7 this morning actually temp not much higher. Been very cold all day doubt it was warmer than 13 in the sun
And to you too JeanP. Don't know where you stay but here in Cape Town it's, as you say, freezing cold. It's 15 degrees inside the house. Thankfully though the cold has brought a lot of rain and snow. Or should that be that the rain and snow has brought the cold. Whichever way the rain has been most welcome and our local dams have had, and with the snow will continue to have, lots of water running into them. Believe the dams are currently around 50% full. So, filling up very nicely but can still do with lots more.
Feel sorry for the homeless and those in low lying areas whose homes have been flooded. So not all good news. A couple of nice warm sunny days again would be most welcome. Then the rains can return.
Wife seems to receive those scam type calls on a weekly basis. Strangely enough it's to a phone that she no longer really uses although it does still have a sim card and a valid cellphone number. She simply says "your a scam, goodbye" and hangs up. Me, on the other hand prefer to drag the call on for as long as possible as it then means these scammers have less time to try and scam others. However, I cannot recall when last I received such a call.
Connected to Telkom in a way I guess, I received a variation on the Microsoft support scam call this morning. "Robert" claimed to be Telkom and said that my Telkom Internet line was corrupted. But Afrihost is my ISP, so I decided to press him as to why they weren't the ones contacting me, and he eventually hung up.
Presumably all other options are still ok. Ask them for details BB, I'm only repeating the message they give when holding on for an operator on 10210.
(Probably away now.)
Optimist, are you saying that if I want to pay my Telkom phone account at a Telkom office, I won't be able to do so? Weird. If I have it right of course. So IF not at a Telkom office then where? Pick 'n Pay and similar type stores?
