Are the quasi Hi-/Lo-band transponders now beeing converted to true Hi-band?
Some of us have noticed some fiddling going on at this level.
I have two identical 4 tuner decoders, still fed via 2 x 4 MS switches (when I need extra LNB feeds from my Octo LNB), with two LNB cables incoming. These decoders have always given pretty good performance connected this way, with both "Standard" (no hi-band Lo activated), and "Universal" (Hi-band Lo and switching frequency activated) network settings. Signal strengths and quality values basically the same (83-93% and 100% respectively). That is until yesterday. Now there is an appreciable difference in the performance between the two settings.
Again why can't MC proactively warn those of us with older decoders, that TWIN LNB installations and MS's will no longer be able to be used for signal reception as of (date)? The Mail message service on the decoder would be a greatway to do this.
Some would need to get themselves sorted out with at least Quad LNBs and 24-1Z switches?
