Sanditon is a British historical period drama television series adapted by Andrew Davies from an unfinished manuscript by Jane Austen and starring Rose Williams and Theo James in the lead roles. Set during the Regency Period, the plot follows a young and naive heroine as she navigates the new seaside resort of Sanditon.
The series first aired on ITV in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2019 in eight parts, and will air on PBS in the United States, which supports the production, as part of its Masterpiece anthology. Due to the unfinished nature of the novel (Austen only completed eleven chapters in her lifetime), the original work is used for the majority of the first episode, and then Davies used the developed characters to complete the story. Set in a seaside town during a time of social change, at the time of her death in 1817 Austen had completed 24,000 words of the novel.[

Greetings Optimist. And others. I went off him ages ago when his humour was obviously staged and a set up with all parties being aware of it. Supposed to have been a Candid Camera type of shot but the people involved must have known what was happening. But even if not his humour isn't the kind that I go for. Saw that Rhino type film was on but didn't even bother to start watching it.
Guess some will like his movies, he's made a lot of money from them, while others may not.
not Leon Shuster humour which I don't find funny at all
Sadly have to agree, what talent he used to have is long gone now IMHO. This latest "rhino" movie from him is awful, we stopped watching after 5 min. :-(
Thanks for the "heads up". MAY give this one a go but quite frankly most of my viewing is centred around some or other cops and robbers type story. Not into sci-fi and fantasy to any great extent. Would really like to discover some 30 minute comedy sit com that doesn't contain lots of swearing, below the belt jokes and the like. Every time I start watching some new comedy type show it seems they contain those elements. At the moment I'm watching Mom and Man with a Plan. (Think that's the title). Anyone have any titles that they can suggest please? Funny, not Leon Shuster humour which I don't find funny at all, and family viewing? Thanks.
NEW SHOW: Hudson & Rex starting end October on Universal TV
Detective Charlie Hudson is a Major Crimes detective of the fictional St. John’s Police Department (in reality law enforcement in the city is provided by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary). He is partnered with Rex, a multi-scent trained German Shepherd with an excellent ear for unique sounds. Hudson grew up reading mystery novels and as a result always wanted to be a police detective. He is partnered with Rex after Rex's K9 human partner died and Rex was scheduled to be euthanized. Rex's keen nose and ears are instrumental in helping Detective Hudson advance the investigations in each episode. The duo receive assistance from Superintendent Donovan, Forensics Chief Truong, and IT Specialist Mills every episode in gathering and interpreting evidence. The first season begins some time after Hudson has arrived back in St. John's, his hometown, following a divorce from his wife. The first case for the series is a kidnapping. Most of the season's cases different murders, each with unique twists. The episode Trial and Error varies; it is a hostage-taking situation.
