Re: Technical info

(Anti-spam filter line, please ignore.)

Not going to try edit any existing complex posts in here further in case they vanish again...

Updates like this will be rare.

(Anti-spam filter line, please ignore.)

1. SuperSport 199 SD changed (if / when in use) from 11594 VER to 11674 HOR.

2. 214 only in use on occasions.

3. 210 now also in HD on 11808 HOR. (Newest high band transponder - its first known usage.)

4. Non-sport channels have not been checked for any subsequent transponder shifting.

EDIT: Changes on Mon. 21 May '18 -

New HD versions of;

ch. 135 - 11728 HOR

ch. 136 - 11728 HOR

ch. 171 - 11728 HOR

ch. 401 - 11514 HOR

Change log:

2018-05-05
1. Enhancement re the list of channels' polarities - items in bold are Hi Band.

BUT... that post then vanished, on moderation no doubt due to multiple editing. Have now place it in a later post.

2. Have now placed links to other threads of tech interest in post #1.

List of channels' polarities

Disclaimer: This list is not an official MC list but a list generated by Forumites in the spirit of sharing information.

** Any updating of this list is unlikely.

Fortunately these details hardly ever change though, and for very few channels when they do.

You can double-check the details on any channel, or check new channels, in your decoder's menu.

Smart LNB (SLNB) OR 24-1Z Switch OR older Explora Switches (ES) - installations & settings

Important notes:

Sharing of the User Band Index for tuner 3 is no longer fully possible if both the Explora 1 and Explora 2A are in the mix, as they use different transponders for the VOD stream. Only if there are 2 or 3 x model 1, OR, 2 or 3 x model 2A involved can those two or three share.

Which Indexes are chosen and their order is not important, just generally prevent the sharing of Indexes.
All of an Explora's Index settings are best done first, then the associated Frequency settings.
Also note that some Frequencies differ between the Smart LNB (SLNB) & 24-1Z Smart Switch and the older 5-1 & 5-2 Explora Switches.

Here are all the User Band Indexes' Frequencies for the newer Smart LNB (SLNB) model LMX501.

(The older model LMX500 only has 24, so then ignore the last 6.)

(Don't miss important further info at the end of this list.)

Index:  Frequency:

0          1210

1          1420

2          1680

3          2040

4          1006

5          1057

6          1108

7          1159

8          1261

9          1312

10        1363

11        1471

12        1522

13        1573

14        1624

15        1731

16        1782

17        1833

18        1884

19        1935

20        1986

21        2091

22        2142

23        2193

24        2244

25        2295

26        802

27        853

28        904

29        955

Unicable ports need to be terminated with the supplied 75 Ohm terminators if unused.

For those instead using one of the Explora Switches or the Smart Switch (24-1Z) ;

The 24-1Z version switch offers 24 User Bands (indexes 0 to 23).

The 5-1 and 5-2 versions can only use the first 5 indexes (0 to 4), and note that with these two switch versions for index 3 you must instead use frequency 1892, and index 4 must instead use frequency 2040.
(Also note that the 5-1 switch does not have any markings on it about what version it is.)

If need be, two (*or three) Exploras of the same model can share their tuner 3's index of choice (older Exploras are called model 1, newer Exploras are called model 2A).
*But three Exploras is only possible with the 24-1Z switch, not with the older 5-1 or 5-2 switch (unless 2 older switches are cascaded - not recommended).

Lastly, even two Exploras is not recommended with the oldest 5-1 switch.
If you must try, make sure the unicable output cables are the same length and are kept short (both Exploras in the same room then).
